Introducing the Jaguar C-xf Concept

Just when you thought you were the coolest in town after giving your car the upgrade, among them a GTO Borla exhaust, along comes a spiffier car you are now dying to get your hands on to.

To say that Jaguar’s newest cat on the block is “stunning” is an understatement.

Ford’s British brand rolled out the C-XF concept into the Cobo Arena at the NAIAS and consequently wowed the crowd.

“Great Jaguars turn heads in the street. They make people stop and pay attention. They evoke instant desire. That’s what the C-XF does and that’s what the next generation of Jaguars will do.” Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar Cars.

And turn heads it does. The gorgeous, four-door sports saloon blends design purity with unmistakable dynamism — a clear indication of the design direction that the next generations of Jaguar saloons will take.

Outside, the C-XF concept’s bold and aggressive grille finished in black chrome catches your attention instantly. Recessed deeply into the body rather than sitting flush with the surface, the visual effect is similar to that of an air intake on a jet engine. Directly behind is a sophisticated and powerful 4.2-litre supercharged V8 engine, tuned to produce in excess of 420bhp and 500Nm of torque – the latter produced from very low revs – this proven powerplant and its six-speed automatic transmission with Jaguar Sequential Shift manual gearchange capability, deliver superb sporting performance.

Inside the C-XF concept’s cabin is “one of the most exciting interiors Jaguar has ever done’, according to Design Director Ian Callum. The striking interior design uses traditional materials, but fashioned in new and contemporary ways. Bucket seats wrapped in semi-aniline leather, the doors and transmission tunnel carved from Poplar wood especially created by artist Clive Sheridan.

As to what innovation you can expect from the new Jaguar, Ian Callum says, “C-XF is a showcase for innovative technology, some of which will feature in one way or another on the next generation of Jaguar cars. Every Jaguar interior should have a sense of fun, but we also recognize that technology should only be there when you want to use it. Yes, there is a sense of theatre about the innovations we have chosen to highlight on the C-XF, but there is also an organized simplicity that brings order and structure to every system.”

“The Jaguar C-XF concept is the most dynamic and modern four-door car that Jaguar has ever created, a design showcase heralding the next generations of our sports saloon models. It signals a future for Jaguar that is as exciting as the C-XF itself.” Ian Callum says.

Shopping Safely Online

You already cannot stand how your car’s old exhaust sound, and for this year one of your new year resolutions was to replace it with something that would not resemble hearing flatulence every time you start or gun it.

Friends have told you that one of the performance brands for your vehicle’s exhaust system is the Borla exhaust system manufacturer. Borla has quality stainless steel made exhaust system for a longer life and uses a patented, straight through design developed to fit perfectly and perform well with a better sound for your vehicle.

You are thinking of shopping for a new Borla exhaust for your car online, it’s your first time to try it, though friends have told you that it’s relatively safe especially if you acquaint yourself with the facts first, but you are still afraid you’ll get ripped off.

To avoid such misfortune, here are the recommended things to look for before you enter your credit card number.

• Look for the secure transaction symbol on your screen before entering your credit card number. This will look like a padlock on the very bottom of your browser. Do not enter credit card information without seeing that symbol.

• Check for a money back guarantee from the seller and the product’s warranty before buying.

• Use a credit card instead of a bank debit card. Credit cards will usually help you if you are ripped off.

• When you make a purchase online, get some proof that you did. Right click on the page that shows what you ordered and your information and select print. Keep the printout and record the date and time on it. If you don’t receive your ordered items, you will know when you purchased and the order number.

• Try to determine if the company is genuine before ordering. Does it have brick and mortar stores? Does it have a good reputation? If you have never heard of the company, it does not necessarily mean not to order from them. But you should check them out a little further. You can contact The Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) and The National Associations Of Attorneys General (www.naag.org) online to investigate the company.

• If you go to one of the popular auctions, be sure to check the feedback area about the seller. Auctions like Ebay (www.ebay.com) keep a log of customer complaints and comments on the seller.

Still in doubt? You can also check an online store’s safety record with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
